Situated down the Mt. Salak (2,211 m above sea level), Sukamantri Nature Reserve is accessible for only 2 hours drive from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia.

Nested in the altitude of 850 meter above sea level, Sukamantri is typical of a complete natural tropical rain forest. Types of vegetation which are easily to find are the wild flowers, pines and many types of trees. We could also find some animals such as wild pig, small deer, monkey and many types of birds mostly typical of Java - Bali birds.

Because of it's natural conditions and terrain, Sukamantri has been chosen as a location for trpocai l jungle training for Indonesian SAR, Mountain Clubs, Military and as introduction training for tourists who would like to explore the tropical rain forest in other places of Indonesia.
