Orangutan, Diving & Family Island Resort by Private Aircraft

Duration: 08 Days/07 Nights
Grade:
Easy
Starts/Ends:
Jakarta or Bali

This trip will show you about the incredible diversities of Indonesian natural environment both the tropical rain forest and the marine park under the water.

We start the trip from Jakarta or Bali to Semarang, the capital of Central Java Province to board on a private comfortable aircraft and having a pleasant flight for 1.5 hour to Pangkalan Bun at Kalimantan to meet one of the human's closest living relatives in animal kingdoms: Orangutans (pongo pygmaeus pygmaeus sp.) living free at Camp Leakey, Tanjung Harapan and Pondok Tanguy stations inside the Tanjung Puting National Park, a misty rain forest surrounded by proboscis monkeys, macaques, gibbons, birds including the giant hornbills and other exotic flora and fauna.

We spend two days "magical trip" with the orangutans in their natural habitat and explore the quit river on a traditional boat ( "African Queen" river boat style) and having some short walk around the stations.

From Pangkalan Bun we fly back with the private aircraft toward the southern part and land at the airstrip in Dewadaru about 64 Nautical miles north of the coastal town of Semarang and transfer by boat to Menyawakan Island, one of the islands of the 27 paradise islands in The Karimun Jawa Island Group.

Diving In Karimun Jawa has much to offer to all sorts of divers, from novice to very experienced. The islands have been declared a national marine park and are protected. We have discovered se9veral dive sites that are in good to excellent condition.

On the upside, one should perhaps mention the overall quality of the diving, the variety between fringing reefs, atolls and wrecks, the good variety of species, some of them rare, such as for example the Crocodile fish and Leafy Scorpion fish.

Whale Sharks are being spotted all year round and recently one lucky group of divers had very close encounters with them on different locations on each of their three dives during one day... Macro divers also have a lot to be amazed of in the area and everyone loves the service given by the dive center!

THE ISLAND RESORT:
The island resort at Menyawakan Island is Indonesia's newest PADI resort in 5 star settings is located at Menyawakan island, one of the 27 paradise islands in The Karimun Java archipelago. Covered by coconut trees and surrounded by white sandy beaches.

The resort opened in August 1999. It has 5 VIP bungalows and 5 two-room deluxe bungalows. Despite it's remote location, the resort is very luxurious. All rooms, furnished in teakwood, are centrally air-conditioned, have satellite TV, a mini bar with refrigerator, western style bathrooms with filtered and pressurized hot and cold showers. All the bungalows have an outdoor terrace with teak garden furniture. The bungalows are all facing West, only 15 m from the beach, which gives an amazing view over the tranquil deep blue ocean and the vivid sunsets. A True Robinson Crusoe escape including the luxurious comforts of 5 star facilities!

For the NON DIVERS of family, corporate gathering, honeymooners and those who just want to rest and relax and the empty and lost paradise, the resort offers all the luxury and leisure activities you may crave; just hanging around and enjoying the tropical paradise above the pristine surface of the deep blue and the beach.

There is opportunity to use Jet skis, Sea kayaks, paddle boats or do fishing or snorkeling, these activities are available at any time of the day.

THE PRIVATE AIRCRAFTS:
The aircrafts are imported from Australia and New Zealand and are in very good condition with relatively low hours. All aircrafts are having new interiors, some with leather seating and presents generally very well. A well maintained fleet of twin engine CESSNA 402 with 8 pax commuter configuration or 6 pax executive seating are ready to serve ther most demanding customers. The smaller single engine Cessna 172's will carry you in comfort with two friends for less money over shorter distances.
