NORTH TO WEST SUMATERA OVERLAND

This trip starts in Medan (North Sumatera) and end in Padang (West Sumatera). You can easily fly to Medan either from Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Then after the trip, you can fly back to Padang - Singapore and then back home.

This trip will take you to visit the all highlight from North to West Sumatera, start from Medan, to visit the highland of Karo, the magnificient Lake Toba, procee down to the south east to the hinterland of Toba domain down to West Sumatera, the land of the Miangkabau.

Day 01 :
Medan Arrival. Transfer to Bukit Lawang. Overnight at small hotel.

Day 02 :
Morning trekking to see the Sumatran Orangutan. Transfer to Brastagi with stops at crocodile farm, waterfall and traditional villages. Overnight at hotel in Brastagi.

Day 03 :
Transfer to Parapat. En route stop at traditional villages of Batak Karo people including the traditional long house. Transfer to Samosir Island on the Toba Lake. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 :
Drive around the Samosir Island visiting ancient graveyards, the remnant of megalithic culture, museum and traditional dance performance.

Day 05 :
Free program at the Lake Toba.

Day 06 :
Transfer to Parapat with stops at interesting places.

Day 07 :
Proceed drive to Bukittinggi. Stop at traditional gold panning, Panti Nature Reserve. Overnight hotel in Bukittinggi.

Day 08 : Full Day Minangkabau Higland tour visiting the King's Palace, fort van Der Cappelan, lovely countryside of Harau Valley, and traditional hand weaving.

Day 09 :
Full Day Minangkabau Highland visiting Sianok Canyon, Japanesse Tunnel, Fort de Kock, Museum, and going around on the horse Cant.

Day 10 :
Bukittinggi free day.

Day 11 :
Drive to the panoramic Lake Maninjau. Back to Bukittinggi.

Day 12 :
Early morning leave for Padang. Stop at Anay Valley Waterfall and Puncak Kiambang. Proceed by boat to Sikuai Island. Overnight at hotel.

Day 13 :
Free program on the island. Swimming, snorkeling, sun and swhite sandy beach.

Day 14 :
Cruise back to Padang for city tour. Overnight at hotel in Padang.

Day 15 :
Padang Departure.
